Design process

For custom work I send through designs ahead of your appointment so we can discuss and make any changes. This is generally a day or two before you appointment depending on my schedule.

I don’t want you to feel pressured into getting a design that you don’t love, if it’s still not right by the day of the appointment we can always reschedule. Please note in cases where a client changes their mind or hasn’t provide a clear enough description or references a new deposit may need to be paid to reschedule a date.

The majority of my abstract work is done freehand. I’ll usually draw up a plan before the session and send it through so we can discuss and make any adjustments. Then on the day I draw the design onto your skin with single use markers and we can work together on the placement and details throughout the process. For some designs and placements it can work better to improvise on the skin and I won’t draw up a plan beforehand. In this case, we’ll go through references together and talk about the style and the placement before I start drawing, and make adjustments as we go through the free handing process.

Preparing for your appointment

Please don’t drink any alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment, and if possible avoid painkillers or any other medications that may increase bleeding. Excess bleeding can make a tattoo take longer, and affect the healed result.

It’s important to look after yourself before and after your appointment. If possible get a good nights sleep and have something to eat beforehand.

Moisturise and exfoliate your skin in the week leading up to your appointment and stay well hydrated.

Don’t worry about shaving the area before hand! It’s best if I shave the area immediately before tattooing and shaving over stubble can actually irritate the skin more.

Let me know if you would like to use numbing cream for our session and I can provide further information and recommendations. I also have a topical numbing spray that works on open skin that can be used during the session.

Getting to the studio

Seven Saints Studio is located on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri people. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

The studio street address is 754 Burke Rd, Camberwell.

We’re a short walk from Camberwell station.

There’s some free all day parking on Victoria Rd and Burwood Rd near the studio.

If you can only get a timed parking spot for your appointment you are welcome to take a break to move your car whenever you need to.

Safety and hygiene

Your health, safety, and comfort when getting tattooed is my first priority. I work at a licensed tattoo studio that is regularly cleaned and sanitised in line with industry standards.

My station and equipment is cleaned between clients with hospital grade disinfectant and/or UV light sterilisation. All needles, inks, skin markers etc. are single use disposable and only used for one person and all precautions are taken to eliminate cross contamination risks.

If you have any questions or concerns about this topic please don’t hesitate to ask.
